Homebuyer Education – Certificate of Completion
Upon the completion of your homebuyer education course, you will receive a certificate of completion. The certificate is valid for 12 months and a copy should be provided to your loan officer to be submitted with the loan application.
For online courses, a follow-up session with an approved Housing Counselor (from the agency you registered with) must also be completed. A certificate of completion will be provided after the completion of both the online course and the required follow-up session.
Please note: Certificates expire after 12 months and the course must be retaken after that period. THDA does not issue refunds. We believe that the education will be beneficial regardless of the loan product you choose.
Step In Program

The State of Tennessee Employment Partnership Initiative (STEP IN) allows employees of participating corporations* to receive a discount for the online Homebuyer Education course. Eligible participants may enroll in the class for $30 instead of the regular price of $100.
