Home Repair and Modification Programs

Home repair and modification programs play an important role in affordable housing by assisting eligible populations with essential repairs and modifications, helping them to maintain safe and habitable living conditions.

For these programs, homeowners do not apply directly to THDA for funding. See information below for information on these programs.

Emergency Repair Program

To correct, repair, or replace an essential system and/or critical structural problem that poses an immediate danger to life, safety, or health of low-income homeowners who are elderly (60+) or disabled. This is not a comprehensive home renovation program; the aim is to stabilize the homeowner’s residence by making emergency repairs to insure homeowners can continue to reside safely in their homes . If you are a homeowner interested in receiving an ERP grant, please contact your local ERP agency.

Home Modifications and Ramps Program

The Home Modifications and Ramps Program provides funding to construct ramps and make other home modifications to assist persons with disabilities gain better access to their homes. This program is administered statewide through United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee.
